Bate Papo Blog
This was an interesting month for immigrants. The debate over the Immigration Reform has been increased. The time has come and undocumented immigrants need to be prepared for the immigration process, in case they are able to become legalized. In my opinion article, I comment on what I’ve been watching on the television debates and what immigrants have been discussing. We also have articles from our contributors on this and other issues. Since many undocumented students are getting a chance to go to college, I invited expert, Larry Dannenberg, to give some tips on this subject. The article was kept in English precisely because it is geared to young immigrants. For parents who have difficulty understanding it, I recommend taking the opportunity to sit with your son/daughter to read and discuss the article together. This month we introduce a variety column, written by a journalist and my college friend, Marco Fogel, direct from London. In celebrating Valentine’s Day, we dedicated space for photos of couples that read our magazine. February is also Black History Month, in the U.S. and this is a great time to introduce the subject of discrimination with an article by Rafaela Garreta. The Pope recently resigned from his post and our contributor Sister Nativity writes a brief biography of the Catholic Church leader.
